SAFETY ASSISTANT

To provide professional health, safety and environmental support to all aspects of the Onshore Facilities Maintenance Service Contract execution and to support the implementation of Client’s HSE policies and the company’s fulfilment of its duty of care responsibilities.

• Supporting the implementation of the appropriate HSE strategy for the Facilities Maintenance Service Contract execution
• Supporting the maintaining of a focused and effective HSE culture concerning onshore operations
• Ensuring that the Client fulfils its statutory and moral obligations concerning HSE
• Actively monitoring all HSE systems, processes and procedures
• Ensuring that the Company’s Risk Assessment process is in place and is being adhered to, and conduct Risk Assessments as required
• Supporting the implementation of the Company’s Onshore Emergency Response requirements 
• Reporting of all HSE related activities and recording of necessary HSE statistics
• Keeping informed of new legislation and its likely impact upon operations
• Identifying improvements to the HSE system and processes
• Identifying and supporting the implementation of HSE related staff training

• Diploma in technical discipline
• Minimum 10 years experience in HSE activities in Oil and Gas Industry to have included:
• knowledge of SIMOPS activities procedures
• knowledge of PTW procedures
• knowledge and experience in FF equipment and protection equipment
• knowledge of EER procedures
• knowledge of high H2S environment working conditions
• knowledge of risk assessment procedures- HAZOP/HAZID
• experience in HSE Data management
• knowledge of international and local codes and standards related to HSE
• experience in preparing reports and using statistical software packages
• interaction with local authority and regulatory bodies
• Knowledge of local and international codes and regulations related to ER
• Qualification to operate in presence of toxic substances and H2S
• Computer literate
• Fluent spoken and written English
